And if you’ve ever visited Harbour Island, things to do here are plenty, so it’s not surprise that French Leave Beach is also filled with activities.
About French Leave Beach
French Leave Beach, also known as Club Med Beach, is located on Bank’s Road just north of Governor’s Harbour. The beach got its name from the old Club Med Resort. The beach was home to the resort before it was destroyed by Hurricane Floyd in 1999.
Today French Leave Beach is a popular spot for tourists because of its close proximity to Governor’s Harbour. The beach’s pink sand beaches stretch for more than a mile, making it the perfect spot for swimming, snorkeling, and exploring the beach. Despite its popularity, the beach is a serene, secluded paradise and you will often go a few hours without seeing any other people. You can easily spend all day at French Leave Beach laying in the sand soaking up the sun or walking up and down the beach.
French Leave Beach is also a good location for snorkeling. There are several coral reefs located just 100 meters off the shore and the water is calm and crystal clear.
The beach is easy to find, with several access points along the road. However, there are no restaurants on French Leave Beach, so make sure to bring some drinks and snacks with you.
