The Playhouse

The Playhouse is a 2021 ground up renovation by a highly regarded architect, landscape architect and interior designer. It was thoughtfully created to be an unmatched Bahamian home where families and friends gather to play and enjoy the best of Harbour Island. With 4 beautiful bedrooms it can sleep up to 10 people: 2 king beds, 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds which can be made into a king, and another with a king bed and a twin trundle. The freestanding exercise room can sleep 2 additional people to bring the total to 12 guests when additional capacity is needed. Four gorgeous bathrooms are distinctive in design, each with a unique island vibe. The house features vibrant Bahamian colors and island patterns throughout.

The soaring ceilings in the living room, kitchen, dining, and indoor bar areas make these spaces inviting places to gather. The custom cabinetry is well appointed with a collection of everything you need to set a stunning table and serve delicious meals, whether you are cooking or bringing in a chef. The outdoor grilling area is directly adjacent to the indoor kitchen and outdoor bar. Collectible quality artwork makes this house remarkable.

All systems are new and state of the art: reverse osmosis water, generator, internet, televisions, luxury appliances, and high-end furniture, fixtures, bedding, towels, and accessories. Complimentary Purology hair and body products are provided. From beach chairs and Yeti coolers to indoor and outdoor games, the owner has supplied everything you will need to make fond memories.

If you want to work or work-out, there is a desk in the blue master bedroom and the private gym is equipped with a Peloton bike and screen, resistance equipment and light weights. The outdoor sport court includes a basketball hoop for fun and games. The pool is nestled in the garden and surrounded by all forms of flora and fauna, including butterflies and hummingbirds. The garden covers the entire property and is truly spectacular. Our dedicated housekeeper, gardener and property manager make this house a home. They enjoy hosting and will make certain you are well cared for during your stay.

The 1200 feet of outdoor covered space will provide you with unlimited options for gathering and enjoyment. You will have your own spacious bar including an outdoor television and a wrap-around banquette with lounge or dining seating for up to 18 people. This space features a two-story cupola and exposed wood ceiling which must be experienced to be fully appreciated.

Unique differentiators: This property is one lot from the ocean on the bay side. Buttonwood and the Playhouse are owned by the Anderson family and access to the premier dock at Buttonwood is based on availability. Open console boats up to 40’ can be docked at no additional charge, and enclosed boats up to 100’ with a maximum 6’ draft requiring water and electricity can be docked for $5.00 per foot per day. The Playhouse is just a short 5-minute walk or golf cart ride to the nearest access to the world- famous Pink Sands beach. Playhouse guests can use our two private palapas and chaise lounge chairs on the glorious beach which stretches for 3 miles and is more than 100 feet wide. Whether you enjoy beach walks, strolling to renowned restaurants, snorkeling from the shore, horseback riding, body surfing, swimming, sandcastle building or searching for the perfect tropical drink, you can do it all from the Anderson’s private retreat on the beach.

*Minimum stay is 3 nights, and 7-night stays are preferred during holidays and in high season. Saturday to Saturday bookings will be favored by the owner, whenever possible. Extended stays are possible.
