We have nothing but positive feedback about our stay at Sea Bean Cottage in early January. by Al 02/06/2015
We have nothing but positive feedback about our stay at Sea Bean Cottage in early January. The cottage was stunning, and was exactly what we were looking for; the kitchen was well-stocked with all the equipment that we needed, and the kayaks were an added bonus too. In addition, Vicky was extremely helpful in answering any questions we had (plus she was very kind to give us a quick tour of her house!), and your communication throughout the booking process was great too.

Overall, a superb experience, and the next time we go to the Caribbean Sea Bean Cottage will be right at the top of our list of places to stay.

Sea Bean Cottage is at the end of a quiet lane, fronting on Bottom Harbour, a vast sandy bay. The dock is well-built and takes you out onto the bay, where you can watch the rays and turtles glide by (some very large, some with stinging tails.) Behind is a mangrove lagoon with crystal clear water that you can visit with the unsinkable kayaks. The only immediate neighbour is the Air Cottage. 200 meters in the other direction is the Bottom Harbour Club, where Leo serves up lunches and drinks. The cottage has everything anyone who is escaping a big city would need: plus the uncivilizing influences of good wifi and a TV. Water supply was no problem. Yeah, there's some no-see-ums that went after my wife but never bit me. (We have no explanation.) There are small, friendly barracuda, those long pipe fish that sometimes jump out of the water, another fish that digs a hole in the sand, and one pokey blowfish that poked around. And there's some bits of coral to the west that have a surprising number of reef species. A lemon shark passed by one day; a rarity - and there's a harmless nurse shark under Bob's sailboat, which is about half-a-mile out. Bob, whose father farmed strawberries in South Florida, can help fix things and give you weather warnings. Vicky is very attentive. She's out on the point. A wonderful, other-wordly (if you're from Vancouver like us) wonderland. I sensed Wes Anderson's presence in the eagle rays' passage. And I imagine if Graham Greene visited North Eleuthera, he would have stayed here

A relaxing 8 days spent at Sea Bean ~ what a truly special place! The views from the dock never get old ~ sunrise, sunset and stars at night ~ be sure to take it all in!
Spent most days here when we realalized we were at the most beautiful spot on Eleuthera! We did journey to Governers Harbour and picked up two different folks hitching ~ got great info ~ where to get fish ~ Island boy in Gregory Town ~ we got fish twice from Charles. One night we had mutton snapper that my husband caught here via a spear! He had hoped for catching a bone fish on his fly rod but they out tricked him! Our guide said the bone fish come and go. Although its time for us to go I hope to come and go from Sea Bean again soon!
Thank you for sharing Sea Bean with us.

We spent 12 days here in January and we are back for 4 more days. Feels right to end our trip right here where we started. Almost 3 months in Eleuthera and Sea Bean is the perfect location. We felt right at home. We will miss the sunrise and sunsets, beautiful. Look out for turtles, starfish and sting rays. Make sure to kayak and visit the Glass window bridge. Hope to be back one day.

We have had 10 lovely days here. Its been breathtakingly beautiful ~ sunny, warm but not too hot, turquoise water with light dancing on it in intricate patterns. Lots of wildlife, including sea turtles and dramatic spotted rays that look like huge black cloaks floating in the water. Good food at Daddy Joes and the Rainbow Inn. Great beaches everywhere but we enjoyed them on Harbour Island, at Spanish Wells and Current. Hope we’ll be back.
